Giza: Great Pyramid of Khufu

This is the part I was most interested in seeing. This tall corridor is called the great gallery. Its ceiling is 9m high (30ft). The purpose for it is unknown, though it's thought that it might have been a slipway for large blocks of stone.

At the end of this passage is the King's chamber which unfortunately, I forgot to photograph. It's a dimly lit room which looks like its walls have been resurfaced with concrete. The only artifact in the room is a badly damaged sarcophagus which is larger than any of the entrances to the pyramid, meaning that the pyramid was built around it.
