This is what we were racing to see. Beating the hundreds of other tourists, we were able to see a replica of one of the statues that would have been placed in this sanctuary. This reconstruction is of the solar boat that would have been used in the ceremonies held here.

In the end I was grateful for the rushing since I wouldn't have been able to take this photo otherwise. Shortly after I left the place was mobbed with people.
