Here we see the head of the plant.

The first recorded use of Papyrus is in the third millennium BC. It was so central the Egyptian culture of the time that it became the floral symbol of Lower Egypt (Nile Delta) in the time of the Pharaohs and thus appears in many reliefs and carvings of all types.
