Kom Ombo: Entrance

Our Nile cruise took us to the temple of Kom Ombo around 8pm that day. This temple is unusual in that it's separated in two parts, one for the Horus, a falcon god, and one for his brother Sobek, a crocodile god.

A feud between the two brothers created some friction that eventually was arbitrated by the goddess Ma`at, who specialises on fairness and harmony. She dictated that the temple be split right down the middle, Horus on one side and Sobek on the other.
