The smaller temple right next door is dedicated to Hathor, goddess of love, motherhood and pleasure. Just as the larger temple's purpose is to recognise Ramses II as a god, this temple confirms Nefertari, the favourite wife of Ramses, as a goddess. As Ramses was identified with Osiris, so too was Nefertari with Hathor.
