The patch of green in the distance, up the hill from Volubilis, is the town of Moulay Idriss, named after Moulay Idriss I, who founded both the town and is credited with the creation of Morocco as an Islamic Arab state. Visiting there holds little for non-Muslims since most of the shrines are barred to them.
