This and the following mosaic are found in a group of houses known as the Cortege of Venus. Volubilis has many well preserved mosaics and this area has some of the finest.

Here we see Diana (centre) bathing in water coming from the mouth of Pegasus (top left). On the right you can see that she was surprised by the hunter Actæon. Of course the penalty for seeing a Goddess naked is often painful. The huntsman, once discovered, was transformed into a stag and his own hounds killed him.
