A more complete view. We're staying in the newest part of the
city. Most ancient cities in Morocco comprise a central old city
called a
Medina and a
newer part of the city or more properly "Ville Nouvelle", most often
built by the French. Medinas are typically surrounded by tall walls
and have a dizzying labyrinth of narrow streets. Fes actually has
three sections. The third is called "Fes el Djedid" meaning "Fes the
New" which is actually older than the Ville Nouvelle.
