This is one of the few trees that survived the blast. It's a Ginkgo. In the aftermath no one was entirely sure how badly the city might have been damaged. Many were afriad that the land might be ruined forever by radiation. When these trees grew leaves once again, hope returned to many affected by the aftermath. This tree still grows today.
