Interestingly Japanese culture, now quite strict about sexual expression, wasn't always this way. Many ascribe the change in morals to European influence. During the Meiji Restoration many fertility symbols were removed from shrines all over Japan.

Other items on display included artifacts from Early Egypt, India, China, Japan and even some artwork from Europe.
