Kouchi-ken 高知県: Ashizuri Cape 足摺岬

Walking down the road to the beach I saw some Buddhist (I think) statues by the side of the road. I think they might be Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva or in Japanese Jizou Bosatsu 地蔵菩薩 who guard over children and travellers. It would certainly make sense in Shikoku since there are many Buddhist pilgrims visiting the rather famous 88 temple circuit.
