The mountain road eventually lands in Kouchi Prefecture 高知県. It's the least populous prefecture in Shikoku and is mostly mountainous. However, most of the populated part of Kouchi is on the plane where rice fields are visible as far as the eye can see.

The first major town I found after I crossed into Kouchi-ken was Nankoku 南国. It's a beautiful city consisting mostly of farms.
