Kagawa-ken 香川県: Sakura no Sho 桜の抄

After driving around some *very* narrow streets and asking many people for directions, and after driving past it three times, I finally found the narrow road to my hotel (Kotohira Grand Hotel Sakura no Sho 琴平グランドホテル桜の抄). This hotel is in the town of Kotohira 琴平 which boast among other things Japan's oldest Kabuki 歌舞伎 theatre. Again the Japanese astound me with their idea of two way streets.

Anyway as I checked into the hotel, I was asked to rest in the lounge. Confused, I did as I was told and they brought my hotel checkin documents to a table as they served me traditional Japanese tea. What luxury! They then assigned me my own personal assistant who was to provide me with information and conduct me to my room and meals.

Here's the dinner meal that they served. Kaiseki 懐石 is a kind of traditional Japanese cuisine comprising small seasonal and local dishes. If you want to know what the Japanese consider delicacies, I'd suggest arranging one of these meals for yourself.
