Tokyo 東京: Asakusa 浅草

I spent the morning with my friends who were letting me stay with them. After that I joined another couple of friends one of whom would be the star of a bachelor party in the evening. We decided to make a quick trip to Asakusa 浅草. This is definitely one of the must see sights on your first visit to the city.

The gate is called Kaminari Mon 雷門 which means lighting gate. It's the entrance to Sensouji 金龍山浅草寺 a Buddhist temple dedicated to Kannon (already mentioned on day 5). This would not be the last of her temples I'd see on this trip.
