"Village of the Arroyo" is an apt description for this site as it sits
right next to Chaco Wash. Early non-Indian expolorers of Chaco
described the wash to be only 18 inches in depth. Recent over-grazing
has caused erosion and the river is now 30 feet deep and as much as
100 feet wide.
It's the last great house constructed. The
building's axis is aligned with the Lunar Minor Standstill and is
accurate to within 2 degrees of the modern measurement.
