This building in Shinjuku was completed in 2000. It has a rather spooky
look which I really like. It houses quite a bit of networking hardware
for Japan's largest telecommunications carrier NTT. Apparently it
employs a great deal of environmentally friendly technology, it uses
solar power to conserve evergy, a nitrogen based fire extinquisher
system, waste water is recycled and rainwater is used for toilet
flushing. In addition, lights on the top of the building supposedly
indicate if it's desirable to carry an umbrella. When the clock was
put into operation in 2002 it became the world's tallest clock tower
at 240m (787ft).
