The southern Hokkaido coast does not vary much in appearance. Many fishing
towns exist in the tiny amount of land between the mountains and the ocean.
Most of the coast is protected by these concrete wave breakers and jetties.
Matsumae was also a little disappointing, as I couldn't find one open eating
establishment. I was dead set on trying some matsumae-zuke, a speacialty
named after the area.
