Ainu Museum: Music

One of the most intersting aspects of Ainu culture is their music. Shown here is someone playing the Jaw Harp. Their lullabies are also very interesting with strange sounds made with rolled 'r's that are said to sooth babies. Their spoken sounds are very different as well. Once acquainted with both languages, it's very easy to tell which place names are of Ainu or Japanese in origin.
